Our club kit is provided by Velotec and covers all the essential fro both summer an winter riding.
We asked one of our club riders to review the kit after giving it a good try out as we had just switched to Velotec. Here’s what Ian had to say:
“I have to say I have been impressed with all of the road club kit, the quality is very good and I have had no faults with any of my items. The pad in the bib shorts and bib tights is of a very high quality and is better than the pads in any of my other kit! The Arm warmers material and winter jacket material are similar (Thicker in the jacket) and are extremely warm I would not consider using the winter jacket until temps drop below 10degs and think it will be essential riding through the winter.
I’ve used the bib shorts and summer top the most so far and they are wearing very well in that I can see no obvious indications of wear and they do not seem to be suffering from repeated washing.
I have noticed some slight differences with shipments I have two pairs of bib shorts and on the first pair the bib is made of a white mesh fabric but the latest pair is black mesh (Personally I prefer the black) not that it really matters as its not on show and the material is the same type.
Sizing wise I’m 6ft 0in and was 95Kg (15st) and Extra Large fit fine for:
Summer Top, Bib Shorts, Gilet, Winter Jacket, Bib Tights (Are slightly too long in the leg for me), Leg Warmers (like the tights are slightly too long)
I’ve had a few issues with the following Arms Warmers are way too long for me so I have to fold them over at the top and I’ve had no issues using them like this. Skull Cap is way too big (I think they are one size as well so I wouldn’t recommend it)
I am now around 85Kg and although the XL still fit (they are not Baggy) I suspect size Large would be a better fit now. As always with sizing it’s not just physical it is also part personal preference so this is my own personal opinion on sizing.
I would happily recommend the BCC road club kit to anyone, I believe it to be good quality and good value for money plus it looks extremely professional when out on the road especially with few others in the same kit.
